Sie bewohnen flache Regionen mit Sand und Kiesböden im westlichen tropischen Indopazifik.
Die größten ihrer Art werden bis zu 13 cm groß.

They inhabit shallow regions with sand and gravel bottoms in the western tropical Indo-Pacific.
The largest of their species grow up to 13 cm in size.

Maximale Länge: 8 cm
Tiefe: 3 - 15 m
Sehr variable Färbung, denn er kann sich schnell der Umgebung anpassen.
Bevorzugt Buchten in Küstennähe, mit Korallengeröll und Seegraswiesen, in die er sich teilweise eingräbt.

Very variable colouring, as it can quickly adapt to its surroundings.
Prefers bays near the coast, with coral rubble and seagrass beds, into which it partially burrows.
