Einleitung

Introduction

Es existieren bisher 49 beschriebene Arten.

Anglerfische sind meist relativ klein und gut getarnt, aber plumpe Knochenfische.

Sie haben keine Schuppen und haben eine aus dem ersten Hartstrahl der Rückenflosse gebildete Angel mit einem anhängenden Köder.

Sie erreichen je nach Art eine Größe von 2,5 bis 38 cm.

They have no scales and have a rod formed from the first hard ray of the dorsal fin with an attached bait.

Antennarius multiocellatus ( Augenfleck - Anglerfisch )

Scarlet or Freckled frogfish

Maximale Länge: 20 cm

Tiefe: 3 - 20 m

Körper mit dunklen Flecken, davon einige gelegentlich mit weißem Rand.

Ihre Schwanzflosse hat meistens drei solcher Flecken.

Direkt oberhalb ihrer Lippe haben sie einen durchscheinenden Rückenflossenstrahl, der auch Angelrute genannt wird.

Es gibt sehr viele Farbvarianten dieses Tieres,von tiefrot, orange, gelb, grün, bis pink und hellbraun, dabei noch einige Tönungen. Passen sich auch gerne dem Hintergrund an.

Lebt auf Riffdächern, wo sie meist ruhig auf Schwämmen sitzen und somit sehr gut getarnt sind.

Nicht scheu, da sehr auf ihre Tarnung vertrauend.

Body with dark spots, some of which occasionally have a white border.

Their caudal fin usually has three such spots.

Just above their lip, they have a translucent dorsal fin ray, also called a fishing rod.

There are many color variations of this animal, from deep red, orange, yellow, green, to pink and light brown, as well as a few tints. They also like to adapt to the background.

Lives on reef roofs, where they usually sit quietly on sponges and are therefore very well camouflaged.

Not shy, very confident in their camouflage.

Lebt in seichten Küstenregionen bis in tiefe Habitate, aber fast immer mit Schwämmen assoziiert.

Fast alle Farben sind möglich.

Lives in shallow coastal areas to deep habitats, but is almost always associated with sponges.

Almost all colors are possible.

Tarnen sich perfekt an ihre Umgebung an.

Ziemlich großer Köder.

These animals camouflage themselves with their color patterns and prefer coastal reefs with rocks.

Man findet sie hauptsächlich im Brackwasser und Flußmündungen, aber auch an Riffen.

Ihr Köder ähnelt oft einer Garnele.

Sehr variable Färbung, oft mit großem, dunklen Augenfleck an der weichstrahligen Rückenflossenbasis.
