Einleitung
Introduction
Ihre Körperfarbe ist rötlich oder sandgelb mit leichten Flecken und sehr ähnlich mit dem sie umgebendem Meeresboden, in dem man sie finden kann.
Diese Färbung wirkt wie eine Tarnung, die sie in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum extrem schwer zu erkennen macht.
Wie viele Arten der Skorpionsfische, schwimmt dieser Fisch sehr schlecht, normalerweise kriecht er nur im Sand umher.
Sie werden bis zu 25 cm lang.

Their body colour is reddish or sandy yellow with light spots and very similar to the surrounding seabed in which they can be found.
This colouring acts as camouflage, making them extremely difficult to spot in their natural habitat.
Like many species of scorpionfish, this fish swims very poorly, usually just crawling around in the sand.

Am Tag oft im Sand eingegraben, wobei seine stark giftigen Flossenstrahlen rausragen.
Anstatt zu schwimmen, läuft er eher auf seinen zwei freien Brustflossenstacheln über den Boden, seine Schwanzflosse ist dabei umgeschlagen.
Variable Färbung, einige leuchtend rot.
Bei Bedrohung zeigt er seine typische Brustflossen Warnfärbung.

Instead of swimming, it tends to walk along the bottom on its two free pectoral fin spines, with its caudal fin folded over.
Variable colouration, some bright red.
When threatened, it shows its typical pectoral fin warning colouration.
