Often motionless in small groups under coral heads or on conspicuous reef structures.

Usually in large aggregations on current-exposed outer reef slopes, often several meters away from the reef to snatch zooplankton in the open water.

Lange spitze Schnauze und dunkler, gelber Augenstreifen der aber nur bis zum Auge reicht und der nicht wie bei anderen über und unter das Auge geht.

Die obere Hälfte des Körpers ist gelb, die untere weiß und die Rückenflosse schwarz.

Schwimmt gerne einzeln, bewohnt meist tiefere Riffe und Steilwände, neigt dazu versteckter zu leben, als andere Falterfische.

Sehr scheu, verschwindet bei Annäherung blitzschnell in dunklen Spalten.

Long, pointed snout and dark, yellow eye stripe that only extends to the eye and does not go above and below the eye as in others.

The upper half of the body is yellow, the lower half white and the dorsal fin black.

Likes to swim alone, usually inhabits deeper reefs and steep walls, tends to live more hidden than other butterflyfish.

Very shy, disappears in a flash into dark crevices when approached.
