Jugendform: Dunkelblau mit leuchtend blauen Flecken und einer durchscheinenden bis weißlichen Schwanzflosse, die mit der Geschlechtsreife gelb wird.

Bewohnen Riffdächer, wobei die Jugendform im Bereich von Feuerkorallen lebt.

Nicht scheu, lassen Taucher oft dicht an sich ran.
