Einleitung
Introduction
Es gibt bisher 27 bekannte Arten die alle zu einer Gattung gehören.
Barrakudas haben einen hechtähnlichen, mit kleinen Schuppen bedeckten, silbrig glänzenden, langgestreckten Körper.
Der Kopf, die starren Augen und das Maul sind groß, der Unterkiefer überragt den Oberkiefer.
Er ist mit besonders großen Fangzähnen besetzt.
Je nach Art erreichen sie eine Größe zwischen 23 cm und 2 m.
There are currently 27 known species, all of which belong to one genus.
Barracudas have a pike-like, silvery, elongated body covered with small scales.
The head, the fixed eyes and the mouth are large, the lower jaw protrudes beyond the upper jaw.
It is decorated with particularly large fangs.
Depending on the species, they reach a size between 23 cm and 2 m.

Langer, silbriger und schlanker Fisch, mit hellen Seitenstreifen.
Oft in großen Schwärmen am Riff entlangschwimmend.
Sie sind scheu und kommen häufig auch tiefer im Riff vor.
Diese Fische sind eher selten anzutreffen.
