Einleitung
Introduction
Sie bestehen aus nur einer Gattung die 5 bis 6 Arten umfasst.
Sie sind verwandt mit den Seenadeln und Seepferdchen, haben jedoch größere Flossen.
Wegen ihrer perfekten Tarnung kann man sie nur sehr schwer in ihren Verstecken, wie Gorgonien, Leder und Weichkorallen finden.
Je nach Art erreichen sie eine Größe von 5 bis 17 cm.

They are related to pipefishes and seahorses, but have larger fins.
Because of their perfect camouflage, they are very difficult to find in their hiding places, such as gorgonians, leather and soft corals.
