Introduction


 There are 2 genera with 7 species.

They live in the Mediterranean, the tropical Indo-Pacific and the Atlantic.

They have wing-like pectoral fins, but although their name says so, they cannot fly with them.

A spectacular species when it spreads its wings,

but otherwise well camouflaged lying on the ground and partially buried.
