Introduction


There are 6 species.

They inhabit shallow regions with sand

and gravel bottoms in the western tropical Indo-Pacific.

The largest of their species grow up to 13 cm in size.

Little dragonfish or Short dragonfish

Maximum length: 8 cm

Depth: 3 - 15 m

Very variable colouring, as it can quickly adapt to its surroundings.

Prefers bays near the coast, with coral rubble and seagrass beds,

into which it partially burrows.
