Introduction

There are 4 genera and 20 species.

Nocturnal.

During the day you can sometimes see them in schools on the reef waiting for the night.

It can change color from red to silver very quickly.

Most species remain under 30 cm, the largest species grows up to 68 cm long.

Maximum length: 30 cm

Depth: 5 - 300 m

Always with silvery cross bands on the back, which can also be very weak.

Varies from red to pale silvery marbled.

Likes to inhabit shallow reefs, usually in dark crevices in the reef during the day,

but can also be found outdoors near the bottom.

Don't be shy, you can approach it with slow movements.
