They were given the name ‘drummers’ because the males make drum-like sounds during courtship.

They usually stay hidden during the day and only go in search of food at night.

Depending on the species, they grow to between nine centimetres and 2.30 metres in length.

Rear tail and dorsal fin are black with white spots, whereby the dorsal fin is extremely long.

The tip of the nose is black.

Likes to live under overhangs or near small caves.

Not shy, you can approach slowly.
