Die Körpergrundfarbe des Strudelwurms ist intensiv gelb.

Es gibt verschiedene Nuancen in der Farbintensität der großen Flecken.

Sie reichen von bräunlich bis zu schwarz.

Eurylepta mit den dunklen, fast schwarzen Flecken betreibt Mimikry mit der Nacktschnecke Phyllidia polkadotsa ( eine Warzenschnecken Art ).

Beide sehen sich zum verwechseln ähnlich.

The basic body colour of the swirl worm is intense yellow.

There are different nuances in the colour intensity of the large spots.

They range from brownish to black.

Eurylepta with the dark, almost black spots mimics the nudibranch Phyllidia polkadotsa (a species of warty snail).

Both look confusingly similar.

Meistens einzeln, oder paarweise in Korallenriffen und felsigem Riff unter Sand und Schutt anzutreffen.
Indem der Wurm winzige Haare auf der Bauchseite wie kleine Füße benutzt, ist er in der Lage, sich recht schnell fort zu bewegen.
Diese Geschwindigkeit kommt dem Tier beim Beutefang zugute, er schiebt sich dabei vollkommen über seine Opfer und saugt diese dann aus.

Mostly found singly or in pairs in coral reefs and rocky reefs under sand and rubble.

By using tiny hairs on the ventral side like little feet, the worm is able to move quite quickly.

This speed benefits the animal when catching prey, as it pushes itself completely over its victims and then sucks them dry.

Ein wunderschöner Strudelwurm, ein kräftiges gelbes Band läuft aussen um den Körper, dann folgt ein etwas schwer zu erkennendes rotes Band, ehe dann die wunderschöne Fuchsia Farbe und die kleinen weissen Punkte den Rest des Körpers ausmachen.

Dieser sehr hübsche Strudelwurm ist im Indo-West Pazifik weit verbreitet und lebt dort unter Schutt und Sand in felsigen Riffen.

Ernährung: Schnecken, Muscheln und Seescheiden. 

Er fällt besonders durch seinen intensiv welligen Mantelrand auf.

Die Farbe variiert von einem hellen olivgrün, über dunkelbraun bis zu schwarz.

In der Mitte sieht man deutlich eine helle Längslinie.

Ovaler Körper mit Verjüngung nach hinten.

This very pretty whirlpool worm is widespread in the Indo-West Pacific and lives there under rubble and sand in rocky reefs.

Diet: Snails, mussels and sea squirts. 

It is particularly striking due to its intensely wavy mantle edge.

The colour varies from a light olive green to dark brown to black.

A light-coloured longitudinal line is clearly visible in the centre.

Oval body with tapering towards the rear.

Wie man auf den Bildern sieht, ist dieser Wurm auf steinigen, geröllhaltigen Gründen zu finden, wo das Tier schnell genügend Schutz vor Fressfeinden findet.

Die Färbung schwankt zwischen einem fleckigen Olivgrün und einem kalkigen Grünweiß mit großen unregelmäßigen braunen und olivgrünen Punkten am Rand und großen unregelmäßigen orange-braunen und weißen Flecken, die über seine Rückenseite verstreut sind.

Die Bauchseite ist hell olivgrün.

As you can see from the pictures, this worm can be found on stony, rocky grounds where the animal quickly finds sufficient protection from predators.

The colouration varies between a blotchy olive green and a chalky greenish white with large irregular brown and olive green spots on the edge and large irregular orange-brown and white spots scattered over its dorsal side.

The ventral side is light olive green.

Da dieser Wurm eine Warnfärbung ( Aposematismus ) hat, die signalisiert, daß er ungenießbar ist, kann er tagsaktiv auf dem Riff unterwegs sein, obwohl er mit seiner Größe von bis zu 80 mm einen guten Snack für Fressfeinde abgeben könnte.
Ernährung: Seescheiden, deren Gift er in seinen eigenen Körper einlagert.
Burgunderfarbene Grundfarbe, mit großen, unregelmäßig verteilten, ovalen bis runden, goldgelben Flecken.

Blauer Mantelrand.
Weit verbreitet im Indo-Pazifik und wie Schnecken auch, ein Hermaphrodit, d.h. zwei Plattwürmer sind in der Lage, sich gegenseitig zu befruchten, da jedes Tier sowohl einen Penis als auch ein Vagina hat.

As this worm has a warning colouration ( aposematism ), which signals that it is inedible, it can be active on the reef during the day, although with its size of up to 80 mm it could make a good snack for predators.

Diet: Sea squirts, the poison of which it stores in its own body.

Burgundy base colour, with large, irregularly distributed, oval to round, golden-yellow spots.

Blue mantle edge.

Widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific and, like snails, a hermaphrodite, i.e. two flatworms are able to fertilise each other, as each animal has both a penis and a vagina.
